A Knight in His Kingdom
2:03 PM
And just like that, three dollars later, He was a
Knight. Instantaneously, he was transformed in his heart, eyes, thoughts,
and actions.
I love his tenacity, his bravery, and his strength. He is filled with joy, adventure, daring
stunts and boldness. His emotions are
wild and unfiltered. He is courageous,
climbing anything he sees and jumping, leaping into mid air, he somehow always
lands on his feet EVERYTIME.
In the same way my son, was instantly
transformed from a mere three-year old little boy into a courageous knight by
picking up his sword and shield, we are instantly changed by the power of His
Word and the Armor of God into Ambassadors of Christ, Warriors of the Most
High, Hands, and mouth pieces for His Kingdom.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the
sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost
thoughts and desires. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all
things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do (give
account).
(Hebrews 4:12-13 NLT)
We have to allow the power
of His WORD to transform our heart, eyes, thoughts,
and actions, thus bringing change to our prayers and
effectiveness to them.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in
his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that
you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For
our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against
the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore
put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be
able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand
firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the
breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet
fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In
addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take
the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with
all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying
for all the Lord’s people. (Eph. 6:10-18)
Equipping ourselves with the sword of
the Spirit, the Word of God, and the Armor of God brings supernatural power to
our prayers. When we begin to walk in
the truth of His Word, as children of light, and center our prayers around His
Kingdom we will inevitably see change in our prayer life. We are to pray for His Kingdom to come. His Kingdom is made up of you and I.
He came into this world to seek and save
those who are lost. (Luke 19:10) We are to follow in His example praying always
for one another and seeking out the lost.
When our prayer life shifts and begins to center around His Kingdom and
purpose they will become more effective.
You and I play a magnificent role in His
Kingdom. Take up your armor. Take up the Sword of the Spirit and by the
power of the Holy Spirit begin praying for His Kingdom to come here on
earth. Our
prayers grow in effectiveness when we fulfill our role in His Kingdom. Be a speaker of
truth, lead others with gentleness and courage. Take it by force, you are
clothed in the full armor of God and nothing is impossible with HIM.

Oh yes...my boys LOVE these items too!! Dollar Tree?? He is SO cute too!!! I think many of us (ok...me...I do too) forget this amazing gift God has given us to be equipped through Him for battle. We cry to God for help, when our armor is just sitting there, waiting to be worn! What a great illustration! Thanks friend!!

These actually came from the dollar section at Target, but we like the Dollar Tree as well! I forget all of time, I am thankful He is patient and kindly reminds me I am fully equipped to go to war with the enemy! Thanks for taking time to read! :)
DeleteI love the parallel stories here! Sometimes, we make things way too complicated--when all it really boils down to is picking up the sword the the shield and become who God wants us to be!
ReplyDeleteI know I for sure make things way to complicated, I love the way he teaches me through my children! They light up my world and quiet time with the Lord! He brings me those Ah ha moments through them!
