When Getting Dressed Is By Far the Hardest thing YOU did Today
12:54 PMI want to cheer you on, those of you, who all you did today was get dressed! That is a step a HUGE step and I am proud of you! You did it, you got up, you looked out the widow let the SON in and He shined on you with grace. Grace that will carry you, empower you, encourage you, and stir you to press on, to keep going, to keep getting up. New mercies await you, and if all you do today is get dressed and open the blinds and let the SON in, then you my friend have done enough, He will and has done the rest!
For those of you who don't even know how you will face tomorrow, HE is and HE is ALWAYS enough. If all you do is get dressed then that is enough, He will fill in the gaps, the missing pieces, and He will bring healing with each new day! Oh the tears will come, and they will fall, and as they fall may they be like rain to your dry and weary soul. May the tears water the dry parts of your life and bring life to the places that seem quenched, parched, and left for dead.
Spring is around the corner. I know this seems like the darkest of night, the longest season, the longest month, but those tears you cry they will be like healing rain that bring new dreams, and new life in the spring. Joy comes in the morning. Those who sow with tears will reap with joy. Those who are passing through the shadows, weak and tired, He will guide through with strength. He will renew your strength, during these unsure trying times one thing you can be sure of is HIS faithfulness.
When we are not so FULL of Faith, He is Faith and HE is FULL. Run to Him is who is Full of faith and He will fill you full of faith. I know what your thinking I don't even have enough faith, strength, to run to Him, then crawl just like the woman with the issue of blood. My littlest, when his mind is set you can't stop him. He can't yet walk but he will crawl and pull until he reaches what his heart is after.
Set your heart, fix your eyes on Him, and with everything you have crawl into His grace and pull on His garment and find healing for your soul. Healing awaits you, even if you have to crawl, and pull He is faithful and will not deny your face. Your face is lovely and He longs to see and hear you!
If all you do today is get dressed and crawl and pull until you step into His grace then you have won! Celebrate your victory, I do, I am! You are doing it, making a choice, choosing the hard! You will be richly rewarded for He rewards those who diligently seek Him!

AMEN! Thanks for sharing this, Laura. I struggled with depression when I was going through infertility. I just shared my story about depression in a recent blog if you'd like to read it. It's called I'm Grateful to be Alive: http://christineleeb.blogspot.com/2014/12/blessings-in-basics-week-3-grateful-to.html. Depression is so real and so painful and so difficult to admit. And you're so right that sometimes just getting out of bed and getting dressed was a huge victory! Praying for the Son to continue to shine in your life!
ReplyDeleteBlessings-
Christine
I just read your post, you wrote out all the other things I wanted to write that I left out. All I wanted to do was sleep, that is the only time I didn't hurt. Thank you for sharing your heart! Thank you for reading, your family is beautiful! Is there a way to follow you on social media instagram? pinterest? twitter? I didn't see any icons on your blog!
DeleteLaura, I am still in my jammies and it's 3 o'clock! (I work from home.) But, I'm not in the least bit sad or depressed - been there, done that in winter's past. Community and friendship have blessed me this year and I am so grateful!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I am a stay at home mom and I must confess there are days where I stay in my PJ's for a couple days straight! ha ha lol. Yes had it not been for friends and community I am not sure I would have made it out of depression years ago!
DeleteI liked the line - "even if you have to crawl" - that is important to know - that sometimes you have to crawl but keep moving - FEAR NOT
ReplyDeleteYes, I most often feel like I am crawling, I am so weak but He is so strong and gracious!
DeleteBravo! Some days, getting dressed (or not) and seeking the Son are the ONLY things to do. The only answer to a closet full of questions comes from letting the Son shine in. You've nailed it. I suffered from depression and my daughter is on the brighter side of a really difficult depressive episode.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will be praying for your daughter I have had very trying and very difficult situations in my life as well! Please let her know I will pray for her and that I am here if she ever needs to talk!
