Five Minute Friday: HIDE

12:50 PM

Today is Five Minute FRIDAY, if you have been with me for a while you know what that means!  A party over at Kate's and you are all invited! If you are new here, every Friday I link up with a fabulous group over at Kate's place and we share our thoughts on the given prompt word.  We have five minutes that is it! And GO....

This week's Prompt Word:

HIDE

“Ready or not here I come.”  I am sure many of your post may start with this phrase.  I grew up running, chasing, hiding from many seekers as a child.  There is one seeker in particular I could never quite out run, out hide, or out disguise.  Have you met this master chaser?

I met him early in my life and why it took me years to figure out I am not as clever as He is beyond me.  I learned something in the last few months Id like to share, quick and to the point.

“You can NEVER hide from Him only in Him.”

For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your
[new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.
Colossians 3:3-4

Adam and Eve tried to hide from God, covering themselves with leaves.  He hunted them down, called to them and offered a way for us to be cleansed and hidden in Christ.  I am thankful. I can Hide in Him.  I have NEW. REAL. LIFE.

I don’t have to hide from Him and cover my shame with my best efforts.  I just have to come running to Him and allow Him to cover me with His grace and His name.

What about you are you hiding from Him?  Won't you answer His call today?  There is new life waiting for you in Christ Jesus.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17

    1. Oh Tasha, thank you. When the Holy Spirit dropped that in my heart it changed everything. Even as someone who has had a relationship with him for several years now I still found myself hiding certain things. I am so glad he draws me into a honest relationship and doesn't hide from me.

  3. Laura, I enjoyed your video. Your guys remind me of my two at that age. :) I also appreciate your post. You're so right. We can't hide from Jesus. He sees all of us, even those parts we aren't ready for Him to see. Thank goodness for His patience as we trust Him with the hurts, the disappointments, the failings, and the lies we are struggling to let go of. There's such reassurance knowing He has new life for us. :)

  5. Laura, loved this post. Childhood is full of those games of Hide N Seek. We try to run and hide. But you are right, as we grow older and wiser, we realize we cannot hide from God but only in him. That 2 Corinthians verse is such a great reminder. By the way loved getting to know you better through your FMF intro video! You rocked it!! And your boys are adorable!!
