Is it really sweet to trust in Jesus?

1:27 PM

"Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word. "I have sung this hymn a hundred times over and yet there are days I question, "Do I really trust Him?  Is it really sweet to trust when all seems lost?".

There are things this side of heaven I do not understand.  I will never begin to be able to understand.  I can also promise you, I will never downplay the events that have unfolded in your life.  Your story is vast with contradicting circumstances.  What do I do when the pages of my life do not reflect the promises typed on pages of an aged, leather book?

My life laid bare for all to see, I am learning in the good, bad, and ugly events of my life they are not what inspired the written truths in that leather bound book.  The events that inspired the authors of truth didn’t always shine with glory either but Glory always shown on the faces of those who trusted Him.

In the last year I have taken a journey with my most trusted friends and family through The Story.  The most life-altering journey thus far was learning there is always an Upper story and a Lower story.

Not only is it sweet to trust in Jesus, it is healing drops of rain to a parched soul to trust Him.

  4. Visiting from FMF. The video was a nice touch. Lives in general are all on multi-levels. But Truth is Truth. And Trust is Trust ... even when we don't have the answers.

    1. Thank you for visiting, I am glad you enjoyed. Yes, or even when we don't understand the answers, I tell my three year old all the time, "Just trust me. I know you don't understand all the reasons I said no, but I need you to trust me that I am making the best decision for you in this moment."

  6. Oh I know that struggle well!! I think I would habe to change my view of sweet to be able to claim this is true all the time in my life. But then my viee of sweet probably doesn't match up with God at times anyway!

  8. It's true every moment of walking on this earth is not sweet, but knowing that Jesus holds us in his hands and our eternity is sure adds a sweetness to the worst times. Thanks for sharing this!

    1. Yes I was just talking to our students about having eternal hope, being able to know our soul is secure. I am so thankful that even if I go through the valley of the shadow of death I don't have to fear evil, he comforts me!
