Sunday Selah

7:19 PM

During this 31-day challenge, I will commit to pushing myself beyond my first initial thoughts of my capabilities.  I will dive in and strive to dig deep within myself for content worth your time.  I will value you.  I will also value my need for reflection, inward contentment, and to just be.  This is the part of the challenge that perhaps will grow me the most.  I will commit to being still before the Lord.  As I do this, I would like to challenge you over the next 31 days to do the same, just be.  Make time for Him, make time for you, and make time for your soul.

Clear the Clutter.  Silence the Noise. Rest your Mind.  Be.

Be quiet.

Be calm.

Be thankful.

Remind yourself of His everlasting covenant.

Sundays will consist of just that during this challenge, me making room to SELAH.

SELAH.

Pause.

Consider the weight and value of His Word.

Sundays you will find me, sitting curled in my imperfect chair wrapped in a blanket of warmth reflecting on His perfect Words of life.  I will let each letter, each word pour over the pages of my heart, I will carefully and quietly ask Him to pierce through dark shadows casting over my heart with the way of life.  I would encourage you to do the same as well pause, listen, sit quietly before the Lord, give thanks, and just be.

“O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, and make known
His doings among the peoples.”
1 Chronicles 16:8

These are three things I strive to do periodically throughout the day and week when life gets overwhelming, this serves as a reminder to me. STOP. SELAH.

~ GIVE THANKS ~
~ CALL ON HIS NAME ~
~ MAKE KNOWN HIS DOINGS ~

His words hang on my kitchen wall;
guiding this wandering heart back to the simple truth of what we are created for.

Do you have a wandering heart you to have to wrangle back in?  How do you make time to replenish your soul?  Do you believe making time for quiet can help infuse you with life everlasting?

    1. I have seen many of us ladies taking on a light load on Sundays and I love that, we still have to take time to prepare our hearts and minds for His Words if we truly want to be able to deliver a God Word to our readers! So very important.

  2. Such beautiful words here! I've recently stumbled over a psalm that charges us to thank God for His love in the morning and His faithfulness at night. This has helped give me a rhythm to my selah as well as something specific to focus on.

  3. Hi.
I've come here through 31 Day Survivors Group on Facebook, and I'm thankful to read your post. In fact, I'm amazed that 1 Chronicles 16:8 you've quoted is almost the same as Isaiah 12:4, which I'm trying to memorize this week.:-)

    Blessings to you, Laura.

    1. I am so delighted that you stopped over. Thank you for taking time to say hello. That is so awesome, I love it when the Holy Spirit does that drops the same resounding message in the hearts of his people. I am going to read that verse now. I hope to see more of you around here and welcome to the group! :)
