God's Glory Protects
6:35 PMThe Sun has Set, and I'd like to Share How God's Glory Protects with you! |
As I was going through my husband’s old t-shirts today, looking for some I could repurpose into shirts for our oldest son, I began to think about remnants. See my brother and I are kind of like remnants. We were dropped off after a devastating night not wanted by our father. We were the remnants of a tragic night. The Bible speaks of remnants a lot, when doing so they are usually referring to certain individuals or the Israelites. Even when there was great wickedness present, God would almost always PROTECT, His people and leave a line to carry out HIS purposes through, a remnant.
Isaiah 14:24 says, “The Lord Almighty has sworn. Surely as I have planned, so it will be, and
as I have purposed, so it will happen.”
I am not going to pretend for a second that I will ever understand the
Lord and what He purposes, for His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways
are not our ways. But there are a few
things that the Holy Spirit has taught me and I know without any hesitation.
I have to believe that I along with many others out there
have been protected and chosen as a remnant for the purposes of God. No matter what the enemy wills, or tries in
order to stop the purposes of God, he WILL ALWAYS FAIL. Even if at the time he seems to have someway
stolen the victory out of the hands of God.
The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Bottom line.
BUT, (don’t you LOVE the BUTS when it comes to Christ!?) He, Jesus, came
to give life and life more abundantly!!
When the enemy invaded our home some 27 years ago, I am all
but sure he thought he had succeeded. In
some ways maybe for a short time he did.
BUT remember back on DAY 6 post Romans teaches us that HE will soon
crush the enemy under our feet! What a glorious day that is!!!
When my father murdered my mother with my brother and I in
the house, the enemy seemingly destroyed a family. Tore us to pieces. However, GOD’S GLORY PROTECTS. There is no logic, reason, or explanation on
why or how my brother and I survived that night, other than in the midst of
wickedness, our SOVEREIGN KING hid my brother and I (Psalm 91) and overshadowed
us with HIS hand and glory and saved a remnant for HIS purposes.
See friend that is why I know your pain, suffering,
questions, frustrations, fears, I know what it is like to hear the cries of
death. I know all to well what it is
like to go looking for your mommy and never be able to see her or hear her
sweet, soft, tender voice sing to you again.
I know loneliness, I know resentment, anger, eating disorders, I know
depression, I know endless hopelessness, I know nightmares, sleeping in fetal positions,
insecurities, BUT I know ONE greater than all of those things that have tormented
me. I know one whose name EVERYTHING
under heaven bows to. You can know HIM
as well. He can FREE you. HE can HEAL you. He can RESTORE you. HE can REDEEM you. HE has protected you, saved you and given you
a purpose. He has a plan for you and it
will come to pass! (Jeremiah 29:11)
I have journeyed through some very long hard roads in my
short life, and I know I will continue to have to journey through some more,
but I will NEVER have to do it alone! I
have a Shepherd, Savior, Redeemer, Friend, Victorious Warrior, and Conquering
King, who has conquered death, hell, and the grave! And he says along with me,
Death where is your sting!!! When you
have life in HIM you have life in the midst of a wicked world. Wickedness can never take your life in HIM
away. You are Hidden in HIM. His glory protects me all the days of my
life. He saved me, this remnant and
redeemed me and that is why I say so!
Please come back tomorrow to find out through all of this
HOW HE has RELENTLESSLY pursued me!

DeleteThank you for sharing this. The exact same thing happened to my neighbors last week, and I have been devastated for the kids involved. I am praying that God will grab hold of their lives and use them the way He has used your tragedy and his victory over it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog, too. Just when you think nobody understands, God sends someone who does. Blessings.
My heart breaks for them, I have dear friends who experienced this same thing two years ago. I will pray for them earnestly, I promise! How old were the children? IF there is any way I can help them, encourage them, be someone they can talk with I'd be honored. I am thankful he sent me your way this morning! Believing Romans 8:28 for their lives and all who are involved.
