He Redeems- The Pit
7:50 PM
Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
This is one of my favorite passages. He redeems my life from the pit. Have you ever felt like you were in a pit? A funk? An icky place? I have recently been in and out of a place like this. I have felt down and dumpy and even been grumpy. (Cheese I know, but I had to.) I promised myself that I was coming out. I was going to get back to my normal. What is normal when you are a mom to young children? My normal is diapers, laundry, cleaning, picking up toys, potty training, maybe taking a shower maybe not. I won't tell you the last time I had a shower and you don't tell me. ;) We will just spray hairspray and some perfume add a little deodorant and we will be good to go.
No really, I just want to encourage you if you are in a pit that is filled with everyday tasks, loneliness, and frustration, HE REDEEMS you. He not only REDEEMS you, He crowns you, yes you in your pajamas for the second day in a row, with love and compassion. These are the jewels he chooses to use. Love and Compassion. Just when you think that you have run out of love and compassion, He crowns you with it.
Just when you feel as though your desires and dreams will NEVER come to pass, HE satisfies them with GOOD things. This is your promise, this is your assurance, this is your life, a REDEEMED life. A CROWNED life. Keep dreaming you lost dreamer, He will satisfy. His arm is not too short, He will reach in and pull you out. There is fullness of joy in His presence.
Father,
For all of those that are in a pit, I ask that you remind them that they are redeemed. You crown them with all that you are and that is ALWAYS enough. YOU are ALWAYS enough, so that means they are ALWAYS enough. You have given us yourself. We can rejoice knowing that you have Redeemed us. We will tell our story, YOUR story of Redemption to all. We love you and humbly ask that YOU will always shine in our life.
Have you felt like you are in a pit? What did you do to help silence the feelings and cling to the truth of HIS Word? I'd love to hear from you. My dad always tells me to SING, it is crazy how just that simple act can change my heart and attitude in a matter of minutes!!

I throw on some loud, fast worship music and dance around with me kids! Or when I'm in the car, I roll the windows down and blast it! Or sometimes I just simply write down the truths I love and need to lean on.
